Voice Chat & Discord
The Roblox experience page for Project: Escape Room does not list built-in team voice. Players still search “voice chat,” “mic,” and “Discord” every day because Challenge maps reward spoken digits. This hub covers what actually works: Discord push-to-talk, Roblox platform voice on age-verified accounts, and the callouts that save Bank lasers and Office reception.
There is no in-experience voice channel
Serif Games did not ship a custom radio. Coordinate outside the map, then split roles.
- Discord push-to-talk is the cleanest option: keypad digits, color names, “I have the Break Room key.”
- Roblox voice chat is a platform setting (Account Settings → Privacy → Voice), not a game pass. Age-verified (13+) accounts can use it in a private server once enabled.
- Public 5-player lobbies are noisy and strangers leave mid-timer. Private servers (10 Robux/month public private, 100 Robux VIP) cap at 10 and stay quiet enough for short callouts. Details: Private Servers hub.
- Call digits in order (“six four eight two”), not “the wiki code.” Office has two sheets: Beginner 7615 vs Challenge 6482.
- August 29, 2026: Temple Challenge (~5.5%) is still the rarest badge. Voice does not change the puzzle; it stops the team from typing the wrong mode’s digits.
How to get voice working
- Pick Discord or Roblox voice before you queue. Do not debug mics inside a Challenge timer. Test push-to-talk in the lobby. Mute music if it buries callouts.
- Agree on the lobby sign. One person reads the sign out loud: Beginner or Challenge. Then everyone enters the same elevator. Office fails instantly if the sheet does not match.
- Assign a keypad owner. One player types. Others hunt. Wrong digits on Challenge waste the timer you cannot pause.
- Use map-specific callouts. Bank: “laser clear” / “moving.” Lab: “Water 4, Food 2, O₂ 27, Temp 75.” Office reception: colors in order, not “the drawing.”
Maps that need spoken roles
Bank
Spotter plus mover in the laser hall. Jamie the OK Gamer’s Beginner walkthrough (below) is the classic two-person split.
Office
Cubicle props, vending, elevator, reception colors. One player on the grid, one on the drawing. Modes hub before you speak digits.
Lab
Chemistry reader plus tube filler. Control panel numbers are easy to invert without a caller.
Temple
Lily-pad braziers and throne 2741. Rarest Challenge (~5.5%). A private server plus voice beats a public 5-stack.
Callout hygiene
- Never paste account passwords into Discord. This wiki and Serif Games will never ask for them.
- Coupon “code generator” sites are unrelated. In-game codes are keypad answers (School 8263, Lab 3952, Temple 2741).
- If Roblox voice is silent, check Privacy, then whether you are in a private server. Some public instances still feel empty of voice even when the setting is on.
- Solo players can skip this page and open Solo Play. Voice is for co-op, not a requirement to escape.
